Taryn Sexton
Facilitator, Coach and Leadership Development Specialist
Taryn is an experienced facilitator of strategic planning days, executive team days, leadership programs and forums. She is skilled at diagnosing organisational needs and curating plans and programs to address these. Her facilitation style is warm, inclusive and results driven.
Passionate about developing leaders to tackle the complex issues we face in a rapidly changing future, she is also an Alumni of the Art and Practice of Leadership Development Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (2024) and the Transformative Leadership Program (2016), a collaboration between the University of Adelaide and the Lyndon B Johnson School of Government at the University of Texas. She is also a Fellow of the Governor's Leadership Foundation (2009). She was a Director on the YMCA Board 2013-2017 including a term as Vice President and a 2013 Telstra Business Woman’s Award Finalist in the Community and Government Category.
She is an accredited Executive Coach, and practitioner in the Team Management System(TMS), Emotional Intelligence (ECR and ECR360) and Resilience @ Work (R@W.)
She has held executive positions in the not-for-profit sector for over 17 years, most recently concluding 10 plus years as the CEO of Local Government Professionals SA where she worked with executives and leaders at all levels from the 68 councils in South Australia. Prior to that she was the State Manager of Girl Guides SA where she led significant change initiatives and worked with the Board and over 400 volunteers to develop community programs for migrants and disadvantaged youth.
Taryn holds both Australian and Canadian citizenship, is the proud mother of two adult daughters and a son-in-law and in her spare time loves walking barefoot on the beach with her husband and reading a good old-fashioned magazine in the bath.
